GREG CRUICKSHANK AQUATIC CENTRE

Public BBQ

The Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre proves that regional facilities can rival metropolitan standards. The centrepiece 50-metre pool, with three lanes dedicated to lap swimming and three for casual use, maintains impressively clear water that beckons serious swimmers and families alike. At $3.80 for adult entry, it's refreshingly affordable. The heated 25-metre pool, which can be fully enclosed seasonally, offers perfect conditions for water aerobics or gentle laps. Children gravitate toward the outdoor water park, while parents appreciate the modern amenities and friendly lifeguards who genuinely seem to enjoy their work. The facility thoughtfully caters to day-long visits with clean toilets, showers, and a kiosk for refreshments. Two barbecue stations with seating areas make it ideal for family gatherings after swimming sessions. Extended hours until 8pm during regular periods add welcome flexibility for working families. Staff consistently demonstrate genuine warmth, creating an atmosphere that feels more like community than commercial operation.
